The Men’s College World Series wrapped up in Omaha, Nebraska this week, with the Oklahoma Sooners winning the third game in the best-of-three championship series by a score of 13-2 over the North Carolina Tar Heels.  It was Oklahoma’s third Division I national championship and continued the dominance of the Southeastern Conference in Men’s College World Series Championships.  The 2026 championship marked the seventh straight national titlist from the Southeastern Conference.

The other teams that qualified for the 2026 Men’s College World Series included Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas, and first-timers Troy and West Virginia. Congratulations to everyone.

The Women’s College World Series closed the NCAA Division I spring softball season earlier this month in Oklahoma City.  Texas defeated Texas Tech for the championship, their second consecutive title after winning it in 2025.  The other teams that qualified for the Women’s College World Series included Alabama, Tennessee, UCLA, Nebraska, Arkansas, and Mississippi State.  Congratulations to all those additional six teams.

In addition to baseball and softball, there were other national champions crowned in Division I sports during the spring season.  Here is the list. Kudos to all the winners.
